David Blaine, a magician, illusionist and endurance artist, is a modern-day Houdini from Brooklyn. Introduced to magic on a subway car when he was four years old, Mr. Blaine picked up magic and started to push the limits of what was physically possible. To date, he has dangled in a clear box above Thames in London for 44 days, been frozen in a block of ice in Times Square, been buried in a glass coffin for seven days, and submerged in a glass ball for seven days. In 2008, he broke the Guinness World Record for time spent holding his breath under water. As a Turnaround Artist, Mr. Blaine works with Hallen School in Bridgeport, CT.
“Being exposed to magic at a young age taught me to explore and push the limits of my imagination. Magic combines all the things I love – math, science, and logic. I look forward to working with Hallen School students and hope to inspire them through the Turnaround Arts program.”
